2010

Wow, hard to believe it is 2010 already and I haven't blogged @ all this year! I cannot say there is any thing new with us, but I can share some new pictures. We spent some of January with my parents and then we traveled back to Louisiana. When we left Iowa they had 33inches of snow on the ground, sure was glad to see some green grass or even red dirt lol.. well any ways. But it wasn't the end of seeing the white stuff..

Well, on the 12th of Feb. they got snow in Louisiana... and It SNOWED! It was about 6 inches I believe they had. There were a lot of wrecks and school was cancelled. Our power went out for about 4-5 hours... The snow was a heavy snow packed with moisture but very pretty. As Kaden said " It isn't suppose to snow at Maw-Maw's only at Grandpa and Grandmas".. Kids.. Then less then a week later.... the sun was shinning and it was warm enough to go feed the ducks :)

Spring is here, and I can't wait for it even though allergies come with it. We are in Wharton, Texas at the Tee Pee motel and Rv Park. I am hoping when it stops raining I can get out and take some pictures. It is an interesting set up. But until then enjoy these pictures and God Bless.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Merry Christmas to everyone! We have had a very interesting Christmas Week. Chris finally completed his job in Rosenberg, Texas, on the Monday before Christmas and we traveled home to Chris parents house.We had Christmas at our place that Saturday night before he completed his job. Kaden was very excited because she had waited so long to open those presents wrapped under our little 3ft tree..

 We had Christmas that Tuesday there. Kaden and Kayne and their Aunt Fawn were very excited to open their presents. We hurried around to get things packed and get ready for the "trip".

We left on Wednesday afternoon to go to Iowa, to my parents house. We ran into rain about the whole trip, I was very thankful Chris was driving. There were many peroids of heavy rain. We stopped in Fort Smith, AR, for the night. Kaden said she was ready to drive some more, when she woke up from her 2 hour nap :) Pleasures of being young. We left the next morning at 730 am to try to beat the "winter storm" that was headed north. Well, we didn't exactly beat it but I think we did beat the worst of it. We hit freezing rain about an hour from KC and all the way up to Saint Joesph, that is when  things got interesting. The wind started blowing and it looked like a blizzard. Thank Goodness Kaden was asleep during this stressful time... Haha.

Well we made it, just to see the weather get worse. We had some good ole' chili and watched the snow keep falling. Kaden woke up Christmas morning to see that Santa had come to visit her. He musta heard her talking about where she would be. She got a Barbie Vet Center, Barbie dog, and a Whoopsie doo doll. For all of ya'll that don't know what a  whoopsie doll is, well as Kaden explained to us... it poops and pees. What great inventions that they have. All of my siblings were able to come home for Christmas but my brother Mike and his family. They were snowed in. The following days included a lot of sledding and tubing. IT  was a lot of fun.

 My brother Mike and his family were able to come and go sledding too. They always had a surprise of their own, They are expecting again :) :) pe Congrats~~ A new baby in the family is always a joyous time..

After all the celebrations for Christmas were over, there was still a lot of snow left over. We built snowmens today. Kaden made her own little ball, which turned out to be pretty big. She was bored after that, so I gave her a ladle and she had a blast with it. My Niece Megan and I got to building the rest of the snow mans. The truth be told, I think I had the most fun building the snowmens. I couldn't just stop at one, I had to make two.. lol Kaden was yelling for Grandpa to let her in by the time I got done with my second one. You just have to love snow :)

Well, I better get to adding the pictures! I hope this blog finds you and your family warm, safe and ringing in the new year safely. O did I mention by the end of it, they had recieved 14.5 inches of snow on top of the 12inches they arleady had... a lotta snow.

Ruston, LA & the Flu

Hey Everyone~

I know it has been awhile sicne I last wrote on here. Busy with the holidays and sickness. I guess it is that time of the year. Here are some pictures from Ruston,LA. The first two are of a set of ducks that were there when we went there in August the first time but they were only babies. When we came back in November, they were grown but still by their mother and still in a pack. We thought it was pretty neat seeing them when they were little and then again while they were grown. So I figured I would share those pictures with ya!

This picture is of Kaden swinging at the Rv park where we stayed! She loves to swing, but then again what child doesn't. We went on a nature hike one day while Chris was off and the weather was pleasant. We went hiking through the woods, lol, her little stroller wasn't really meant for it. She was a good sport about it but wasn't to wild about being out in the wild.

This is one thing that we do enjoy as a family, A LOT. We like to go feed the ducks. I remember when I was little going to Ida Grove, Iowa, where my Grandma lived and feeding the ducks. I even had a swan come after me once! But it was such a blast, and really didn't cost but a loaf of bread. So we take Kaden whenever possible to feed the ducks! She really enjoyed it and of course we had to take Lilly with us too!

We had a wonderful Thanskgiving at Chris' parents house. We had a bon fire that evening with his cousins and Aunt. It was a great time and all the little cousins got to run around and play. But.... Then came the sickness. I got sick on Thursday night with a sore throat, I just figured I was sick from the bonefire. Chris Started feeling ill on Friday and it hit Kaden on Saturady. We left Saturday to come to Richmond, Texas, about 30 miles south of Houston.  The weekend ended with me and Kaden going to the ER feeling so horrible. We had the flu... just the regular flu. Kaden and I are over it, Thank Goodness, but Chris is still coughin. Hope he gets better really soon.So here is a picture with kaden with a "kool" patch on her forehead to help with her fever. I thought it was cute :)

Well, we are still in Richmond but plan to be leaving soon. We have never seen so much rain before until we are on a deadline and want to go home for the holidays. My parents got 12 inches of snow up in Iowa. Kaden can't wait to go sledding :) If I do not post before Christmas, I hope you got our card and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. God Bless!!

Nephew Jack's Birthday

Even though I was not able to attend, I did want to share these pictures. My brother's little boy, Jack Michael celebrated his 2nd birthday on December 1. Here are some pictures of him. Sure has gone by fast already!

New Orleans,LA

We went to the New Orleans Zoo and Aquarium on Sunday. Kaden really enjoyed it even though there were a lot of people because of the Cajun Festival that was going on.. Interesting people. But we saw many animals and even got an opportunity to pet a baby alligator, turtles, nutra rats that were a week old, and some snakes. But we passed, not your typical pets to pet. At the Aquarium she could have petted a string ray and a small kind of shark but she would not dare go near. I am going to try to post a lot of pictures because they show the zoo and Aquarium  a lot better than my words.

Those were pictures from the zoo and the rest are the ones from the Aquarium. The Aquarium I didn't take as many pictures because we have been to Ripley's Believe it or Not Aquarium in Gatlinburg, TN (Spelling) and it was pretty much the same thing. But this Aquarium was located downtown by the French Quarters. Didn't really see any thing impressive to take pictures of.

Well this was our adventure of New Orleans. We finished the day off going to eat at the Outback Steak house where we learned we were under a Hurricane Watch ? That was alarming but as many of you know, Praise the Lord, it went the other way. Kaden had a fun time and likes to say New Orleans now funny..

We finally moved from Convent,LA. Chris had to do one job site in the swamp and saw a baby alligator and had a water moccasin try to get on their boat but no body was aboard and the snake didn't succeed. He was glad to get that over with. Now we are back in Ruston,LA, at a wonderful and peaceful RV Park called Linclon Parish park. Love it. Will take many pictures of the changing leaves and wildlife.
